Owly is now available on the Kindle!

We’re delighted to announce that all of the current Owly Graphic Novels are now available for download on the Amazon Kindle!

All of the books are optimized to be easy to read on the Kindle’s E Ink® (Electronic Paper) Display thanks to my good friend Van Jensen. This entire endeavor wouldn’t have been possible without his hard work and wonderful guidance. Thanks a ton, Van! :)

You can read a wonderful story about it over at Comic Book Resources and If you’re lucky enough to own a Kindle device, you can visit Amazon’s online store to download all 5 Owly graphic novels right now for $4.00 each as well as two Owly comic books for only $.99 each!

I’d also like to thank all of my fans that came out to see me at Heroes! Owly and I had a blast. Next stop, the ALA!

Bid on my Doodles for a very good cause :)

Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that affects one in every 2,500 births. Worldwide, 115 babies are born with this genetic disorder each day. NF is more common than Cystic Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy, and Huntington’s Disease combined.

Imagine an unpredictable disease that causes tumors to form on the nerves of your body. Depending on their location, these tumors can cause disfigurement, dysfunction, deafness or blindness. In the wrong place they can be fatal. If that weren’t enough, NF can also cause learning disabilities, seizures, bone deformity and cancer.

Despite the many researchers studying this devastating condition, there is still no cure, and treatments are largely inadequate.

My late cousin, Kathleen had NF. She was a lovely soul, I will always remember her kindness, and I will do anything I can to help others affected with this horrible disease.

As part of NF Awareness month, I did two Owly doodles that will be auctioned on eBay from May 7th to 17th. Here are the links: Auction 2, and Auction 1! 100% of the funds raised will benefit NF, Inc., an organization dedicated to providing support to individuals and families affected by neurofibromatosis by providing education, advocacy, coalitions, research for treatments, and a cure. If you’ve ever wanted an Owly sketch from me but weren’t able to find me at a show, now’s your chance! So, bid away and help a very good cause! Thanks! :)

If you already have an Owly doodle, you can bid on others by such awesome people as my good friend, José Villarubia (Promethea, Mirror of Love), Chef Duff (Ace of Cakes), Colleen Doran (Sandman), the late, great, Dom DeLuise (Captain Chaos!), Mickey Dolenz (from The Monkees), Rue McClanahan (Rose!), Kevin Nealon (SNL), and many, many, more!

Free Comic Book Day is here! :)

This Saturday, May 2nd, is Free Comic Book Day! This is a wonderful, world-wide, event where all you have to do is walk into a comic book store and you’ll get a selection of comic books for absolutely FREE!

Find a participating shop near you by clicking here and then get there early to get your very own Owly and Friends Comic because supplies are usually very limited!

This year’s FREE! comic from Top Shelf features a cover that’s a jam piece from James and yours truly! Inside you’ll find not only an all-new Owly adventure, but also other all-new, all-ages adventures from Owly’s friends: Johnny Boo By James, Korgi by Christian, and a little Yam! bonus comic by Corey. It’s perfect pick for everyone in the family! I hope you all enjoy the new story and have an awesome day!!! :)

Owly says… “READ!”

I’m incredibly honored and proud to announce that Owly and his woodland friends are now the stars of their very own “READ” poster for the American Library Association! Your Library (or even you!) can order the 22″ x 28″ poster here!

And if you’d like something a little smaller, you can order a big pack of Owly bookmarks and share the READ message with 99 of your friends!

I’m super excited about these because I’ve loved seeing all of the different READ posters in the library for as long as I can remember and its unbelievable to be a part of this wonderful program that promotes literacy. As you can see, Owly says READ in his very own way. My extra-special thanks go out to Leigh, Rachel, Tina, Terrance and everyone at the ALA for all of their wonderful ideas and support! ^,^

Oh, and just an update on my last story, SPX was wonderful and the Owly-Caster went to the wonderful Miss Julia for over $2,000! Thank you again, Julia! Both the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and I really appreciate it! :D
